Boston. Alfred Mudge & Son. 11- 1880.
14 pp booklet, 9 x 6 inches, in blue paper wraps. Black and white map unfolding to16 x 9.5 inch folding map is tipped on to the inside rear cover. The map, detailing the company's network of rail lines, has a short tear (about 1/4 inch) at the intersection of the two folds, but is clean and bright. The booklet has a very soft vertical crease but is otherwise in very good condition. A most interesting booklet detailing the finances of the Old Colony Railroad for the year ending September 30, 1880 (income of over 3.5 million dollars). Of particular interest is the folding map at the rear of the booklet, illustrating the reach of the railroad in Massachusetts (including routes to Lowell and Provincetown) and the route south to the millionaire enclave of Newport, Rhode Island.
