Fisher, Harrison (illus). Theodore B. Hapgood (decorations by).
New York. Dodd, Mead & Company. 1913.
13 ONLY (of 16) tipped -in color plates, 13 x 9 1/2 inches, decorative endpapers, decorative paper covered boards with cloth spine, color pictorial cover label with gilt lettering, gilt lettering on spine (hardbound). Covers in poor condition: soiled and rubbed with edges of boards exposed, long abrasion and light staining to pictorial cover label. MISSING THREE PLATES. Toning to endpapers, dampstain to lower edge of front endpapers and approximately 8 pages including one plate (outside main image area); a few plates have faint spots in outer margins, a majority have light creasing at the lower left edge (a common problem with these tipped-in plates). One of the more unusual Harrison Fisher "art books" a collection of 13 really beautiful plates (not to be confused with his more common "American Beauties" title). Images include one of graduates and a beautiful woman in a large hat with pink roses. The color plates which are missing are the frontispiece, and plates opposite "To a Poet" and "A coward."
