Vol. L, Number 9. Complete issue of the magazine in color pictorial wrappers as issued, profusely illustrated in black and white, color ads, 84pp, 16 x 11 inches. Good condition; page 42/43 has been raggedly cut from the magazine and a (presumed) coupon in the corner of 41/42 has been clipped. Modest crease marks and very short tears to front and rear covers, small chip to left margin of front cover otherwise, save for issues as noted, in good condition. June 1923 issue of McCall's Magazine with noted illustrator Neysa McMein's color portrait of Ethel Barrymore on front cover. Statement on cover reports that Barrymore was "chosen by Miss McMein as one of America's Twelve most beautiful women." A featured article signed by Barrymore is entitled "At Thirty Every Woman Faces A Crossroads." Fashion pages feature 20s "summery styles"; there is much full-page period advertising in color including Cream of Wheat (Edwin V. Brewer), Fab Soap (Willebeek La Mair signing under the name Saida), National Biscuit, Community Plate etc. Overall good condition with a striking color portrait by McMein of America's "best loved actress."
