Tinted lithograph, image approximately 8 1/2 x 12 inches on sheet size 11 1/2 x 14 3/4 inches. Several mended short tears to outer margins (well outside image area), light soiling to margins, soft crease at lower right corner. Good condition overall, image is remarkably clean and bright. Lithographic view of Chicago by Louis Kurz from the series "Chicago Illustrated" with descriptive material by James W. Sheahan, which was published in installments by Jevne & Almini (1866). Each of the thirteen installments, issued in paper wraps, contained four tinted lithographs printed by the Chicago Lithographing Company. These lithographs represent scarce pre-fire views of the city. Item #47224
