Lithograph, 9 3/4 x 12 inches on sheet size 11 1/2 x 14 inches. Very good condition. Attractive lithographic view of, according to text on verso, "The Largest and Leading House on the Island" capable of accommodating 600 guests. Behind the hotel the village of Atlantic City is pictured, and beyond that the Atlantic coast line. A horse drawn tram conveys guests from the hotel to the seaside. The image, bright and clean, comes from the Historical and Biographical Atlas of the New Jersey Coast by H.C. Woolman, T.F. Rose, and T.T. Price (Woolman and Rose, Philadelphia: 1878). An arresting print of 19th century Atlantic City in very good condition. Item #47194
