Voorhies, Stephen J. (cartographer).
No Place of Publication. No publisher. No date. Ca. 1940.
Two-color map, 7 3/8 x 10 1/4 inches on sheet 7 5/8 x 10 1/2 inches. Few soiled spots, adhesive residue and some light abrasion to the verso (from being glued into a scrap book?), good condition. An attractive and unusual map of the United States Naval Base by the cartographer and illustrator Stephen Voorhies. This map came from his personal estate, and is likely a proof copy of a map for an unidentified publication. The central diagrammatic map is enhanced with illustrations of buildings on the campus, such as Mahan Hall and Bancroft Hall; a legend at lower right names buildings and other sites. Item #46803
