Hand colored engraving, plate area approximately 16 3/4 x 10 1/4 inches on sheet size 18 1/2 x 11 1/4 inches. Two soft impressions from paper clip to upper edge (outside plate area), light crease at centre of left edge, couple of tiny edge tears; very good, clean condition. Artistically designed image of a pond lily or water lily, complete with botanical details, from the second edition of William Curtis's magnum opus "Flora Londinensis" (de Belder #87, Dunthorne #87), enlarged by George Graves and William Jackson Hooker. The wove paper in this edition is whiter than the laid paper in the 18th century edition. This sheet is watermarked 1820. Item #46243
