Color bird's eye view map, image 20 1/4 x 32 1/4 inches on sheet size 22 x 33 1/2 inches, Light wear to folds now minimised by professional linen backing. Very good condition. Handsome color bird's-eye view map of the state of Oregon bordered at top and bottom by vignette illustrations: "This map is not entirely to scale but is designed to give a perspective of the entire state, to show the railroads, highways and principal roads as far as possible, and also to indicate the resources and recreations that are tributary to the principal cities and towns. In fact, it is intended to give an impression of Oregon almost at a glance." An inset map at left shows the "The Columbia River Highway and Mt. Hood Loop." Artist Frederick Routledge worked for the West Shore from the late 1880s, and, on its demise, The Oregonian, then freelancing, producing many graphically striking and informative bird's eye view maps of Oregon over his long career. This uncommon map was issued as a brochure by the Portland Chamber of Commerce in 1929. Item #46238
