Two copperplate engravings, first image 9 3/4 x 14 inches on sheet size 12 x 16 inches and second image 7 1/4 x 10 1/4 inches on sheet size 8 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches, both with multiple folds as issued. Repaired 1 1/2 inch marginal tear, 2 1/2 inch separation along one fold of larger print; the plates are bright with good margins. Two prints of the Friendly Islands from An Account of A Voyage in Search of La Perouse, translated from the French of M. Labillardiere; B. Uphill, London, 1802. This edition, published two years after the Stockdale translation, was in two volumes and featured 43 engravings and one chart. The two prints, each with Piron identified as the artist and issued folded, are "Double Canoe of the Friendly Islands" and "Entertainment Given to Admiral D’Entrecasteaux by Toobou King of the Friendly Islands." Inscribed beneath the title of this, the larger engraving, is the publishing information of "Pub. Apr. 20 1800 by J. Debrett Piccadilly." Item #45631
