Four woodcuts (each approximately 5 x 3 inches), hand colored, on single sheet 8 1/2 x 14 inches, text on verso. Some faints spots, soft crease to lower right corner, overall very good condition. Beautifully designed and executed wood cuts of four Hyacinth varieties, showing flowers, seeds, roots. Coloring appears to be early hand color, simple and carefully done. Verso of page 368 from an unidentified old German language (fraktur) herbal, possibly Mattioli’s "Kreuterbuch ...." (Jacob Fischer, Frankfurt am Main, 1611) a German version of his "Pedacii Dioscoridis de materia medica libri sex" first published in Venice 1558. Item #44589
