Two woodcuts (each approximately 5 x 3 inches), hand colored, on single sheet 8 1/2 x 14 inches, two woodcuts and text on verso. A few faint spots, overall very good condition. Beautifully designed and executed wood cuts of two Chrysanthemum plants, showing flowes, seeds, roots. Coloring appears to be early hand color, simple and carefully done. Verso of page 365 from an unidentified old German language (fraktur) herbal, possibly Mattioli’s "Kreuterbuch ...." (Jacob Fischer, Frankfurt am Main, 1611) a German version of his "Pedacii Dioscoridis de materia medica libri sex" first published in Venice 1558.
