Color lithograph bird's eye view style map, sheet 21 x 14 1/2 inches folding into thin card folder 7 1/2 x 4 inches as issued. Creasing and short edge tear to upper right edge, otherwise map is in unusually good condition. Light overall soiling and bookseller stamp to folder. This is a handsome pictorial map of the Rhode Island / Massachusetts coastal area, showing Newport at the lower edge, Worcester at the left edge and Portsmouth and Lewiston at the upper right edge. There are seven inset maps showing the regional lines. The legend notes Electric Railroads, Steam Railroads and Parks (all marked in red on the map); the parks would have been a focus for recreational trips. Lithographed by George H. Walker & Co, Boston, who issued many fine maps of the New England area. The back cover of the folder has an advertisement for Cape Porpoise Casino on the Atlantic Shore Line Railway and three other panels with ads. Item #44333
