Double-page centrefold wood engraving, from Harper's Weekly of July 5, 1862, 13 1/2 x 20 1/2 inches on sheet size 16 x 22 1/4 inches, centerfold as issued. Several tiny dark foxing spots visible in sky, faint line extending from the left upper edge into the sky area (not very noticeable), repaired tear to center lower edge just penetrating image; good condition. A dramatic image by Winslow Homer showing a calvary charging across an endless field of fallen horses and soldiers. Item #42871
