Color map 22 1/2 x 13 1/4 inches on sheet size 24 1/4 x 18 1/4 inches folding as issued into 6 3/4 x 5 inch paper folder. Paper loss and a few tears to edges of paper folder, map in very good condition with some soft creases and corner folds. An uncommon map of this region published during World War II when Palestine was under British Mandate and before the United Nations General Assembly adopted a Resolution recommending partition into an Arab state, a Jewish state and the Special International Regime for the City of Jerusalem (November 1947) which led to a civil war in the region. The State of Israel was declared in May 1948.(Wikipedia) The map features a scale of altitude (shown by color), a list of Principal Towns and Villages along with their populations and a reference guide to Railways & Stations, Rivers, Jewish Colony, Arab Village, Christian Holy Places, Marshy-Land, War Cemetery, etc. Item #42345
