Globe in very good condition. Promotional text on the globe highlights its special features: "Round Like the Earth itself," this Fold-O-Globe presents the first important innovation in the Art of Map-making in 474 years --- a continuous map projection designed to show at a glance the important Countries and Cities of the World and the true relationship of one Continent to the other. Note the adjusted Equator which gives you a true illustion of Earth Curvature. Axis controlled areas shown in Solid Red. British territory shown in light Orange." Gerald A. Eddy who is the copyright holder on this intriguing development in depicting the world designed many panoramic maps in the post War era; this globe is a direct response to the need of Americans for a new way to view their position in the "aviation age."
