Color pictographic / pictorial map, 22 x 34 inches on sheet size 22 1/2 x 34 1/2 inches. Originally folded to 7 1/2 x 11 inches, now professionally flattened with tears and splits repaired on verso with Japanese paper (several short edge tears, a few long tears into image, now scarcely noticeable), little paper loss to lower right margin, uneven margins. A stunning bird's eye view pictorial map of central southern England's Coast from the area of Southampton in the west (with the Isle of Wight) to Hastings in the east, with London at the top edge of the map. Much detail (such as the location of race courses and castles) with rail lines marked between towns and villages, suggesting that this is a trimmed poster issued for one of the British railways.
