Volume XLIV. Bound volume, January through June 1864 year of The Illustrated London News, but with two issues never bound in: January 30 (pp.93-116) and February 13 (pp. 141-172). Black and white illustrations, 628pp, 16 1/4 x 11 3/4 inches, leather spine and corners with marbled paper covered boards (hardbound). Cover extremities rubbed. Dampstaining to lower 1/2 inch of cover and free endpapers, but not affecting text at all. Interior is clean and tight: intermittent library stamps (mostly in upper right corner), occasional light foxing to interior pages, creases to a few pages, abraded area and soiling to page 68 and 69/70 (1/2 inch hole). The large folding Supplement bird's eye view of Glasgow is not present (it doesn't appear to have been removed).
