Full page color lithograph and in-text black and white illustrations, unpaginated, 10 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches, color pictorial paper covered boards with cloth spine (hardbound). Interior in very good condition, cover in fair condition. Wear to cover extremities exposing edges of board, 2 inch split at tail of spine, front cover has 1 inch of paper loss to upper and lower left corner and mid right edge (affecting first letter of title); owner inscription on front endpaper, a very few scattered spots but generally the interior is in particularly clean and bright condition. Sixteen charming color illustrations by British artist Cecil Aldin, known for his depictions of animals and hunting scenes. Illustrations include chickens and roosters, a Scottie dog, what appears to be a delicate Pug, and a couple of cats screaching. "Verses by Richard Waylett" printed on cover at lower left.
