Map, outline handcolor, 17 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches on sheet 18 1/2 x 13 1/4 inches. Light soiling in upper and lower right margin, very soft vertical fold scarcely visible from the front, a few 1/4 inch short edge tears at lower edge; good, clean condition. An attractive, extremely detailed antique map from the Weekly Dispatch Atlas, drawn and lithographed by Edward Weller. The route of the North Western Railway is shown in four strip maps; at the lower edge of the left strip is Liverpool, Newcastle under Lyme is at the top corner of the righthand strip, and Birmingham and Wolverhampton are towns in the bottom strip. Railways, roads, tracks are marked, along with the names of villages, some buildings, roads, woods etc etc. The scale is half an inch to the mile. Item #41294
