Various pages unopened, name plate on free endpaper of each volume. In near fine condition (the spines faded to a rich brown), 1/8 x 1/4 inch lightly abraded spot on back cover to the upper left side of one spine (Vol.13). Previous owner's bookplate in each volume. A finely bound set which enhances the bookshelf, each volume fitting snugly in the hand for reading. This is the Autograph Edition issued in a limited edition of 150 sets, printed on hand-made old Stratford paper, with the author's signature in the first volume of the Essays and the first volume of the Plays. Volumes 1 to 10 are the Essays of Maeterlinck, volumes 11 to 19 are the Plays (as marked on the Spine, although Volume 19 contains the Poems).
