TWO VOLUME SET, 25 CHROMOLITHOGRAPHIC PLATES (including two color maps), 2 full page black and white plans, 2 full page black and white illustrations, numerous black and white in-text illustrations, black and white head and tail-piece illustrations, all edges marbled, 570 pages, index, 11 x 8 3/4 each, cloth-covered boards (hardbound). Cloth mottled, moderate wear to extremities with boards a bit exposed at most corners, split in cloth down most of rear joint of volume 1, short tears and small losses to ends of spine, 2 inch tear at bottom edge of contents page, one plate has an approx. 1 inch stain extending a bit into image, otherwise plates in near fine to fine condition. Interiors very good in fair covers. The vibrant color plates include 13 of cow breeds, "Alpine Dairy Station in Summer", of chickens, one of pigs and 4 botanicals. Includes double page color map: "Dairy Farming in America. Copied from the 9th U.S. Census".
