Cover detached and spine rubbed, light soiling to cover, a few short edge tears in margins, split to bottom of spine throughout up to 2 inches (including 1 inch split to bottom of centrefold illustration), light spotting to interior, images clean and bright. Children's book with bright chromolithographic illustrations, of particular interest being one titled "In Town: At a Fancy Bazaar" which shows a Western women dressed in Japanese style attire at a booth that features wares inspired by Japanese and other Asian cultures. Also the centrefold illustration "In Town: Arrival of the Fire Engine" showing a horse-drawn fire engine rushing to a fire. Other full page chromolithographic illustrations include: "At the Seaside: In the Sands", "At the Seaside: Saved by the Lifeboat", "At the Seaside: Playing at Horses on the Esplanade", "In Town": Going for a Ride in the Tram", and "In Town: A Ride in the Afternoon".
