Good condition: moderate rubbing to extremities, small gouge in rear board, rear hinge cracked, moderate foxing to endpapers, otherwise occasional light foxing, small loss and ink writing to title page, a few pages torn including a small tear to one plate. Spine states "Scribner's Monthly". Black and white plates include a portrait of U.S. Grant, 3 portraits by Thomas Nast titled "The Plymouth Pulpit", "The Speaker's Chair: House of Representatives, U.S." and "Editorial Chair of the Tribune" Item #35314
