Engraving with original handcolor, sheet 6 1/2 x 4 inches. Beak of the parrot is cropped at the left hand edge; otherwise clean and bright. Plate 10 from William Jardine's Naturalist's Library volume on parrots. The artist, Edward Lear, is renowned as an ornithological artist and these are beautiful miniature examples of his work. A gray parrot with red tail feathers. Only the bird is handcolored, the landscape background being etched in. Engraved by Lizars. Item #34635
