Copperplate engraved map with original handcolor, 17 1/2 x 20 1/4 inches (44.5 x 51 cm) on sheet 21 1/2 x 25 inches (55 x 64 cm), centrefold. Dampstaining in corners just affecting image at lower left but otherwise not distracting, some soiling to margins, otherwise image clean, centrefold has been reinforced with thick paper (very early mend) which makes this area rather stiff, small area of paper loss (1/4 x 1/2 inches) at centre which has been filled by centrefold reinforcement and is scarcely noticeable, edges rough with small chips and edge tears up to 1 1/2 inches all outside map area, six neatly underlined town names at centre right, tiny brown spot on cartouche. Uncolored decorative engraved cartouche at upper left corner. Additional title in French in upper margin. In lower margin is French explication of the color coding for the areas of Germany. Includes areas of France (Orleans and Lyon are among marked towns), Italy (Garda, Venetia), Bosnia and Croatia and Poland. The northern coast line runs from just west of Boulogne to just east of Danzig.
