Color wood-engraving, 8 x 5.5 inches on sheet 11 x 7 inches. Barely visible occasional foxing spots in margin, generally clean and bright. Single plate from W.B. Tegetmeier's "The Poultry Book". Striking image of prize poultry, depicted by Harrison Weir who "poured out a lifetime of devotion to English poultry" (Norris, Books on Poultry and Cock-Fighting). Color printing by Leighton Brothers. Leighton was a pupil of George Baxter and became the printer and publisher of the Illustrated London News between 1858 and 1885. Item #30405
