Humphrey, Maud (back cover illustrations).
NY. G.H. Buek. 1894.
288 chromolithograph plates, two to a page, index, 8 1/2 x 12 inches (22x31cm), 18 parts in color pictorial paper wrappers as issued. 16 issues in very good to fine condition; as is often the case with this set, the first and last issues have received more wear. The first issue has toning to the front cover with some chipping and creasing at extremities, the spine has been taped; the lower right corners of the first two pages are chipped, otherwise the interior and the back cover are clean and bright. The back cover of the last issue is browned, creased and chipped along edges. Overall a most attractive set. This 'Botanical Fine Art Weekly' issued from May 15 to September 11, 1894 is a beautiful production with brightly colored illustrations and descriptive text. The back cover of each issue features a chromolithograph of two girls playing in a meadow of flowers by artist Maud Humphrey, mother of Humphrey Bogart. Item #25631
