Folded map in covers 9 1/4 x 6 inches opening to color map on sheet 27 x 41 inches dated 1945. Map itself measures 21 1/4 x 34 3/4 inches, while a street index below the map measures 5 1/4 x 34 3/4 inches. Advertising entries to the left of the map (cafés & restaurants, department stores, hotels, radio services, etc.) measure 27 x 6 inches. Iconic images on the map identify prominent buildings in central Victoria (Empress Hotel, Crystal Gardens, City Hall, Parliament, etc. Verso of map contains additional advertising and a 9 x 17 1/2 inch map of the southern portion of Vancouver Island showing ferry service from Victoria to Vancouver on the mainland and U.S. destinations. Text block containing map's title identifies the map's sponsor as the W. & J. Wilson Clothing Store. Legend below map's title identifies streetcar and bus routes. Covers: moderate wear to extremities, pencil notation to front cover. Map: multiple pinhole separations to fold intersections; 3/4 inch tear to bottom edge of sheet, well outside map area; 1 1/2 separation at one fold end at right edge, penetrating neatline; wear along one fold line at lower right.
