Jo Mora is perhaps the best known and well loved of all the pictorial map makers of the early and mid twentieth century. A lively map of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, with small cartoon-like pictographs. There is extensive historical information, all infused with Mora's delightful sense of humour. In a particularly delightful touch, the lower right border is dedicated to the dogs of Carmel: "Old Carmel had its famous doggies, too. Real village personalities. Here's just a few from our Who Was Who in Bowwowland." Item #48936
