Only the November and December calendar sheets remain. In spite of all these faults, the poster is actually very displayable, with bright color. COOK, GLADYS EMERSON)         Cook, Gladys Emerson (illus).
1944 Calendar - Reminding us of our Animals - each day.
Stock ID: 31835
Albany, NY. American Humane Association. 1944.
Multi-sheet calendar, 5 1/2 x 5 inches, total of 14 black and white illustrations (one for each month, plus 2 cover illustrations). Months printed back to back and attached at top with pink cord. Overall very good condition, with the one fault that someone has glued small calendar sheets for 1945 over the calendar months for 1944 (they obviously wanted to enjoy the calendar for another year). These sheets could most likely be steamed off, but do not affect the images at all. A charming calendar for the cat or dog lover, filled with some exceptional images. The very first cover page has an image of a boxer dog by a Christmas tree and is titled 'Santa has been here'. Other images include 'Time to grow up', 'Alert' (a German shepherd), Siamese cats by a window, 'Peace' of cat and kittens in a basket etc.
